#Coursing Sevenhouses 2012 LAWLEE 'a day to remember'

Following the victory of Mike Lawlee's ; LAWLEE at Sevenhouses 2012 , proud son of Listowel ; Louis O' Carroll sang a rousing rendition of Red- Haired Mary.. The ballad 'Red Haired Mary was wriiten many years ago by another famous Listowel native - Sean McCarthy. Sean was born in 1923 and taught at national school by another literay giant - Bryan McMahon.
This year sees the 18th annual SEAN McCARTHY MEMORIAL FESTIVAL. running from the 3rd to 6th August in Finuge.
Louis O'Carroll has attracted somewhat of a cult following since the launch of his CD - River To Sea- last year. All proceeds to the Listowel Hospice. A gregarious and humble individual , I should never want to enlist the balladeer in a professional capacity. By day, Louis is a consultant psychiatrist.

I swear that there are more characters in Listowel than there is in the Chinese alphabet! Doc O'Carroll can hold a tune with the best of them too, for a more intimate acoustic peformance, you simply have to make your way to "Jets" or "Mike The Pies" in Listowel most nights of the week.
