@philbio66 Your entire argument revolves around the false assumption that there is a definite list of "humiliating" actions. "Humiliation" is defined by the individual at the time in question. During the hypnosis, the person does not define the action as humiliating; afterward, they do. Notice how in the video, the hypnotist says, "You are the world's sexiest pole dancer." In her mind she was a pole dancer, so even if she was aware of the audience, it would have seemed normal to her.

@philbio66 - Ay the end of the day - you're free to think what you want... and obviously nothing is gonna change that. I'm getting really quite bored of replying at this stage - so this is my last comment with you... there's a whole wide world out there - so I'm gonna enjoy it - as opposed to sitting at a computer replying to endless threads. Thanks for your interest. HypnoDj.

there's also another reason for the feel good suggestions. that's to prevent people from feling embarrassed or humiliated when they come out of trance. those suggestions are given to prevent your mind from coming to its own natural conclusion as to how you should feel about what you did and said.
-
That’s absurd. They would only be a person’s true feelings if they’ve achieved them through their mind’s own natural processes. Like I stated earlier it’s a hypnotic con-job. If I feel a certain way because of post-hypnotic suggestions, those feelings definitely not my true feelings.

@philbio66: affecting the conscious mind in a positive fashion - which is the basis of theraputic hypnosis - the idea is implanted by the hypnotist - but the feeling become real in the mind of the subject - therefore they ARE their real feelings.
-
@philbio66: Well you and I both know - you would NEVER volunteer for a stage show - due your dim ethical view of hypnosis... some people can have a laugh just for the sake of it - and there's always the "deniability" factor - as in "It wasn't really me - he made me do it" I don't do the embarrassing hypno stuff.
-
The entertainment from most hypnosis shows is derived from making fools out of the subjecsby getting them to do and say the most embarrassing, humiliating and degrading things.
-
Let's say I volunteered for a hypnosis show and hypnotist got me to make out with broom, eat an onion believeing it's an apple, perform a simulated sex act and experience orgasms while an audience howled with laughter. Why should I feel good about that?
-
Because those feelings are not their own. You're affecting the conscious mind's perception of what the subjects experienced.
-
@philbio66: Again it's like human nature... Why do we do what we do? I can only presume that some people volunteer because they want to perform... some to see what the experience is like... and others because they don't believe in hypnosis - and just want to pit their wills against the hypnotist to prove they can't be hypnotized. inevitably people do what they do for their own reasons - and it's not for me to say...
i wona be a pole :D
