They are called vocaloids- artificial voice programs. You enter in a song's words and notes and they sing it in a supposedly "perfect" voice. Well, that's the simplified explanation of course.

There are several different "voices", such as Miku (probably the most famous), Kaito, Len & Rin, Gakupo, and Meiko. Those are the main ones, but there are also variations of them like the Akita version of Miku.
