Panda Gives Birth at Japanese Zoo

And over in Japan, it's panda-monium for zoo officials in Kobe. The newest member of the Oji Zoo came into the world on Tuesday. Giant panda Tan Tan is now a proud mother.

This is Japan's first baby panda in 20 years to be born as a result of artificial insemination.

Zoo officials waited with bated breath as Tan Tan's maternal instincts kicked in.

The cub hasn't been named yet and its gender hasn't been confirmed.

The zoo expects the baby panda to make its public debut in three months and then it will be returned to China where its parents came from.
