Dom vs Em/Elec Brute

Second video, yea its another brute fight, but its all I've been getting so far. Very close fight, the brute is a very good duelist and almost took me down at the start; however,I got a few lucky heals with the victory.

This fight should have gone much easier for Lacuna,surprisingly blatant mistakes for a vet Dominator player.

Firstly- Bring 8 Greens 8 Oranges and 4 Breaks and you'r good. In the early part of the fight use Oranges 4 in a row, with your Patron Armor it'd put your Energy/Smash resist at 70%'ish

Secondly- You can see how pointless it was trying to kill the Brute through PS, better to spam confuse and burn his breaks while focusing on kiting. Holds and damage is pointless through PS.

Dont need oranges against energy attacks with my shield. And spamming confuse in duels? OK. Even though I probably wouldnt have killed the brute through PS, its best to keep pressure no matter what, and spamming holds is better than confuse, because I can hold through the T9 powers.

Yes- it's good to try to "Hold" them through the T9, however you'r not going to kill them. This is shown in your duel where you only managed to kill you opponent when the Tier 9 crashed. Spamming Confuse would have run through their BFs quicker as they would not have been able to attack you unless they burn it.

Pressure play is important in pvp but sometimes it pays to take a more cerebral approach.

But confuse does nothing in duels, they can simply target you through it, since no one else is around. It's not particularly easy, it takes patience because usually you have to click the target instead of tab, but it can be done, and I knew this brute had the skill to do it.

Sure I could have just done nothing but spam my hold, but wheres the fun in that? Trust me, holds were better in this situation. I have held people through T9 with BFs up on top of it.

Actually that's wrong. The way confuse is, if it's affecting you- you cannot target anyone of the opposing team period.

Yea sure you can bounce around and chip slowly away at their health while trying to hold them. I, however, prefer to just confuse them- it's simple, they either burn BFs to try to kill me or I'll wait for the crash and promptly 1 shot them there with a Blaze.

I dont mind showing you how Confuse works on either Pinnacle or Virtue.

Unless they changed it in the past year when I quit playing the game, you can still target your enemies. You just have to click the enemy target - tab targetting wont work. They will show up blue, a friendly target, but you will be able to attack them. And once you do attack, your target switches. But who knows, who really fucking cares, I won the duel my way. You can spam confuse in duels, I'll spamm(ed) holds.

Look, regardless, the Dom can hold the Brute through the T9. This forces them to waist BFs throughout the match. Also, to be fair, Confuse is a far slower animation *while* being less effective (if not ineffective, which it would've been). Lacuna's strat was far better than what you've said, which is why they're known and were dominant, and no one knows who you are. =D

Confuse was quite recently changed that you can only harm your teammates. Attacking anyone else is done in vain.
