  • That’s the first part of the cycle, that will skyrocket and takes a little for it to go down once that bacteria is established then the Nitrite will go up, then Nitrate so it’s doing the right thing. That’s good keep monitoring it and will see the other parts of the cycle soon.

  • It is affect not effect!

  • @fhofho00 you got me there, I used the correct word on the other but not this one, thanks.

  • i wouldnt cycle with damsels... most of the cheap damsels are very aggressive. i know a guy who put a few damsels in first and to make a long story short... he hasnt been able to add anything else cuz the damsels gang up on it. as far as clown fish go. if u want to add more than one clown u need to add them at the same tme and try to avoid odd numbered groups of them. once u go with a certrain type of clown adding any other type of clown is difficult. that may be why ur one guy is picking onthem

  • @jptzy You are correct that many damsels are very aggressive and are often looked at as pawns, perhaps not the most human however there are many supplements that you can now add to your water that will cause you to wait this time at all. I used two blue damsels and they were mean to smaller fish however would mind their self and good thing is blue damsels are a small fish and if nothing else you can move to your refugium to keep away from other fish. Thanks for watching & commenting.

  • Hey tk I am cycling my tank it's probably been up for a week but my ammonia is at 8.0 this is the first time a cycle I have been through with the ammonia that high. Woolite go down?

  • @tkdhav :)

  • @rassob Don’t forget you can buy Ammonia Neutralizer at your local fish store, it may show up on your ammonia test however it neutralizes it so it’s not harmful. But best to use it to fix temporary problem not using it as the solution to what is wrong.

  • @tkdhav - Thanks for your prompt reply... Well, my puffer is long gone, but I'll definitely work harder if my other fish suffocates. I'm changing %25 of the water and I just can't get the ammonia below 0.5ppm. I think I'll have to wait until the bacteria grows.

  • @rassob All my fish have survived, good luck with that, i'm going through a bit of trouble right now my self with ammonia but its because my protien skimmer is down, so I just make sure I clean out my media filters ever day to help with this.
