The founders who *opposed* slavery wanted blacks counted as 3/5 of a person, in order to minimize the south’s representation so that slavery may be one day overturned. Slave states wanted them counted as 1 Non Slave states wanted 0, this was a compromise. Read the United States Constitution Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3. Then research what the North wanted and what the South wanted. I don't really think the south wanted their slaves to vote.
