@sickfixxreturns Nah, back in PSX days it was all about how many "bits" your console had, cd disk drives versus cartridges, load times, and yes people still cared about graphics. With the exception of RPGs and survival horror games, the average video game had little to no story -- today, almost every game tries to have a decent narrative. As far as replay value goes, most modern games have online multiplayer that you can play for years and years beyond the release date, sometimes decades.

I wonder what it would look like if they remade this game. Would it be absolutely sick or as scary??? I think it would be awesome but they would need someone who really cared about preserving the classic feel of the game and try to capture a lot of the old ideas and structural aspects of the game while adding more to it at the same time. I don't think this game was mediocre really at all. I do agree it was a bit simple but it just needs a little work and BAM!!!!! EPIC!!!!!!

What Im wondering is . . .is it too hard to ask for both? - Good visual experience AND a good story?

@sickfixxreturns Also I couldn't care less about what the reviews say for LP2, that game as far as gameplay goes at least is awesome.
Success is the worst thing that could have ever happened to the video game industry. I hate the new generation of gaming. There's no PASSION any more!

Modern video games suck ass. Even the new Final Fantasies. I'm convinced PS1 was the last bastion of good gaming. Now, gamers care more about 'graphic processors', 'megaherz', 'blu-ray' and all this other inane bullshit than they do good video game storylines or replay value. Why should they care about replay value with Gamestops making games disposable when they've aged only three months? They lower the value down to $1.00 after two years so you can't even trade them in!
