It's real. It is using chemicals extracted from the sap in plants that contain endothermic properties; that is why forest fires do not wipe out all trees, some contain these chemiclas in their cambium. Concentrate these and you have the ultra effective extinguisher you see here. At least that is how its western competitor works, I am assuming as the process is identical, so is the formula.

You're right, at 1:20 the fire to the left disappears while he's still spraying toward the right side. Pretty dangerous to use tricks (lies) to market safety products =/.
