At a recent award show, Akshay Kumar won the best actor award for Blue. This, along with other recent controversies like Saif's Padma Bhushan striked the arguement over the corruption in popular award shows. We staged a debate between famous authot, film critic and ex-editor of Screen, Bhavana Somya and veteran actors Paresh Rawal and Om Puri. This debate had all three of them argue about the credibility of awards today. Watch the video for glimpses of this debate!

  • Salute to Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan & Nasser Sahib for rejecting awards. And Abhay Deol for being honest about it.

  • sooo trueeeee

  • just becuz youre a fuking ignorant and dun believe there corruption, wont change the fact

  • akshay kumar is a great actor and i think he deserved the award

  • thats why AMIR KHAN never appears in any award as they are hijacked by Sharukh khan

  • If Akshay Kumar is winning best Actor awards in Indian awards then the awards aren't credible. In Bollywood, more than any other film industry, the awards are popularity contests mostly instead of being based on merit of performance. It happens in every industry, but is very prevalent in Bollywood. That is one reason why Indian Film Awards don't mean anything around the world unlike BAFTA, Oscar, Golden Globes and Cannes awards which all mean something in almost every film industry.
