BP gas station in Racine, Wis. shows easy installation of LED canopy lights. Advantages of LED lighting include no maintenance, energy savings, bright white light and cost savings.
I have proof of this light loss factor we're talking about here...search in Youtube for BIGLIGHT9 and check out my videos and find out the "real" truth about LSI and Beta/Ruud. Love LED, just hate how big LED companies mislead the customer....mainly on purpose. There is a better way forward and we know who's got the best SSL LED product out there and it's not LSI or Cree/Beta/ Ruud.
We see that "illusive" light loss and failing cheap imported chinese drivers here in Texas also. I've seen 30%-40% failure in 1-2 years with LSI and Beta/Ruud. No BS! The light output is really bright at installation, but light shrinks quickly in the 24-30 month range..for some reason. These type high lumen output fixtures range from $350-$1500 depending on manufacture. We never guess with LED we get L90 w/ 10 year light loss guarantee and 5 year warranty. email questions to tsieli@yahoo.com
We are seeing the problem here in Central Florida too with LED's drivers which are from China. LSI has had a lot of problems with their drivers too. 7-Eleven is now just switching from using LSI to Beta lighting here in Orlando where we just converted their stores from Mobil to 7-11.
LED is the future for all canopies and we are seeing a lot of lights going in the BP and 7-11s from BETA and LSI. The issue we see from these big Chinese lighting parts importers like BETA/RUUD listed in this article, they have a big problem with light loss. LEDs with light loss and no performance guarantee to prevent this are just solid state ticking time bombs waiting to fail. e-mail me with your questions. tim@g2led.com for a better system for you canopys. I love the light just not done right
how much on average do these panels cost? I have 8 panels on my c-store atm, and am looking to change them up to led in the future. Im also located in WI :D
