45231 private charter at Arrochar 06/07/11

Black Five 45231 arrives and departs from Arrochar & Tarbet with a luxury private charter heading for Oban, using the Queen of Scots pullman rake of coaches. It crosses over with the afternoon service train from Mallaig.

The midges were terrible on this occasion thanks to the damp weather - you may catch a glimpse of one or two of them if you look carefully!

Excellent shot, how late was she at Arrochar & Tarbet as she left 51 minutes down at Dumbarton central due to coupling problems? Liked.

@BritishTrainVideos, she was bang on time or just a minute late I think! According to scot-rail.co.uk I think she was due out at 1408 and that was just about when she left. Wouldnt surprise me a Black Five being able to make up time like that - they were magnificent performers on the WHL in the days of steam after all. thanks for the kind comments.
