For real she got ALBUM OF THE YEAR! Thats a huge deal, on american television those people get like 5 minutes to go on if they please because it is THE award given out. Appalling on the producers part and I love the way Adele handled it.

People say she went over her time because she was "basking in the applause". When Blur got their Lifetime Achievement award (God knows what for, they've been out of the spotlight for years!) they were on stage for around 5-10 minutes making their speeches which then threw off the timing for the whole show. Ironically, Adele was cut off so that Blur could give their (utterly crap) performance.

It seems you are trying to find an excuse to be somehow negative towards her. Common-sense would dictate that a performer respectably stands and smiles (after having performed) to the applause of an audience and not disrespectfully walk off as they are clapping. Adele is one of the most real and grounded non-diva, non-pampered-queen individuals in the celebrity world that you will ever see - see her interviews for proof.

Watching other speeches it seems they usually have about 50 seconds to a minute. As others have said, time starts when she gets the mic. She was bathing in the applause for about 30 seconds. Everyone will be told the limited time they have. Tbh, I think Adele's voice is great but she comes across as pampered drama queen here.

I am sorry, but she is not someone special compared to the others. They have a lot of people to fit in and a lot to do in a short amount of time. Adele is given equal objective treatment just like everyone else. I think the producers did a good job managing the time, there are few people capable of managing a show as effectively as they do.

And yeah, it sure was an emotionally driven message!

(And Adele is over-exposed as it is, she, nor any fans, have any room to complain about her coverage)
