I think it's a fine straddle-- just as Fox News obviously tends toward the conservative side of news coverage, so is NPR notorious for reporting news filtered through a liberal sieve. There is no such thing as unbiased reporting, and I think while people rightly charge Fox as a conservative outlet, they are less capable of recognizing a clear liberal slant from stations like CNN and MSNBC.
Not losing any respect for Bill Kristol... it was zero to begin with.
And, Fox News & NPR is not a good straddle for Juan Williams. One is propaganda for fun and profit, the other is journalism for thinking people. There's no "straddle" position there.
