On the Books' latest release, the duo creates an emotional roller coaster of outlandish vocals samples and various musical styles. This thing is all over the place, but believe me when I say that's a good thing. There's a ton of vision behind this album; and despite all of its weirdness, it's still highly accessible. It's one of the most engaging listens I've had all year.

Listened to 'A Cold Freezin' Night'. It really reminds me of an album by Hit! Hit! Punch! Punch! called I Think In Spongebob. It's a free download, but the whole thing is just the recorded ramblings of a 4 year old with punk instrumentation.

Looking back, I think this is my favorite album by The Books, as well as my favorite album of the decade so far. The non-sequiturs in this are delightful.
