Solitary Part 10

The end of the series.

Thanks to everyone for your support and helping make this work. Solitary started as an idea for a single, short video, but one broken camera DV port later, I edited what I had filmed thus far into a one-minute cliffhanger. I probably wouldn't have made the second part if it weren't for the positive feedback I got over the summer as my camera was being fixed.

I had always had a rough idea of where the story would go. Originally I was going to have a shootout in a room overlooking the central reactor of the Death Star II, but eventually changed that to what you see here. There was going to be a "dark side ending" where they pulled the lever and the destruction of Endor somehow blew up all the Rebel ships inside the Death Star II, but even aside from how complicated that would be to film, in the end it just didn't make much sense. For a while, the lever did the opposite of what you see here, and they did pull it in the end, but I figured that plots where the events of the movies only happen because of some unseen character pressing a button behind the scenes had become somewhat overused, so I made one where the same thing happens, except the unseen character behind the scenes is instead refusing to press a button. Clever, eh?

This may be my last video for some time, due to real-world concerns, but I don't think it will be my last one ever.

@apmason It's a reference to a "Star Wars: Tales" comic where Boba himself says it. I figured he got it from Jango but didn't really learn the lesson for a while.

@AnakinSolo1 It wasn't my idea. It was in the original script for RotJ, and it was left in the novelization. I don't think the 501st was at Endor, though.
