My friend Jebb demonstrates the Mauser Gewehr 98 infantry rifle as used by Imperial German soldiers in WWI. If anyone has ever seen "All Quiet on the Western Front", THIS is the correct rifle the Germans should have been using, not Turkish T-38 Mausers. This rifle was made in 1916. Ignorant people who post without knowing the difference between the original Gewehr 98 from WWI and the Karabiner k98 from WWII will have their posts deleted because they are too stupid to read a book on firearms. Stupid comments about video games will be deleted. Insulting or ignorant commentators will be instantly banned.

  • i just got my hands on an Erfurt 1917 dated short G98, If i recall correctly it waas called the K98AZ?

  • @himmler251 Actually I believe the name was Kar98AZ. My friend in this video has two of them. They were the first carbine Mausers used in the German military. The Pols also made a close copy of the Kar98AZ also.

  • ach ja die gut alte Hitler-Jugend

  • @MrOsmanu Hitler Jugend? Nein. Soldat des Kaiserreich!

  • how much shorter was the k98 from the g98?

  • @TheNERFDUDE97 about 6".

  • @hiphop476 No. Not WWII. It's a WWI German rifle. Full length and not a carbine.

  • did the bolt offer much resistance? it looked pretty smooth

  • @HateCrewMurder It's late-war "dazzle camo", it comprised a bunch of colors that would appear very dark at night, with black lines to break up the shape of the helmet, making it harder for their opponents to spot or hit the wearer if they were detected during night time operations.

  • I was wondering. What differences does this have from the later Karabiner 98k besides the straight bolt handle, different sights, and longer barrel? I am aware that a different bayonet was issued with the Gewehr 98's. I have a K98k and it's bayonet. I've never shot it though.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS its a GREAT rifle, Id just rather have a G98

  • Great video. I'm a Wehrmacht reenactor and have a 1916 Danzig G98 that was converted to K98 specs in the late '30s. I've been hoping to get my hands on a decent G98 in original condition, but haven't been able to scrounge up the cash. Its wonderful to see these pieces of history in the hands of people who can appreciate them.

  • i have a Gewehr 98, made in Berlin in 1916. excellent shooting! i have several people who are always making me an offer for it! speaking from my own experience, these are not easily found at gun shows although i'm sure you could find one if you searched the entire country for one. p.s. good video!

  • @LCBourbon008 Actually dude there not really " Extremely Rare " as you say, you might have a 78.6% of a chance to find one at a Gun Show if your lucky, or at a Antique shop but the price come to about like what DARIVSARCHITECTVS said, but it all depends if its in good quality. so good luck finding one man

  • what the fuck happend to the helmet? why it looks like a christmas tree?
