Signal Operations 1

This shows the operation of the three light signals at this interlcoking in operation. All circuits were built by me based off a diagram from the internet. The system is automatic, meaning it relys on train movement and turnout settings and requires no direct input from the operating panel itself. This saves time and allows more attention to train control while still giving the effect of an operating signal system. The system works off of track detectors and turnout relays connected into the driver circuits for the signal heads. This is a DC system so detectors take the advantage of the reversing current to detect train direction.

Great demonstration. Wanted to point out that on a railroad, the green light is on the top and red is on the bottom. It's not like the traffic signals we see on our roads.

@msk578 Thanks for pointing that out and yes you are correct, however in the C&O rulebook, the green was in fact on the bottem just like a traffic light for the top head of their signals, I did this purposely since I was mocking the C&O rules for those signals. Most all newer signal installations have the green on the top however and about 90% of ones I see are that way.
