Thief 2 - Guard fight and body surfing!

First off - turn the volume up. Sorry about that.

Players will run across this encounter during the "Life of the Party" mission of Thief 2. Normally players will just sit in the shadows and wait until all guards are dead (except for the last one - he's the insulting one on the balcony above, who manages to "shoot like a soldier" and kill the other guard).

The body surfing (!) was not planned, and I had never done it before this.

Incidentally, a Keeper can be seen behind a window in the level just before you come across this.

Sorry about the volume level - it's all I could get out of FRAPS. I might edit this for volume in the future if there's demand (and if I can figure out how to do that). Naturally, all the sound files should be found in a *.CRF in the Thief2 directory.

what the HELL do you use to open .CRF files? i don't know of any places to find thief 2 tools, and XWE does a BS job of it.

You've probably found what you needed by now, but I believe .CRF is easily renamed as ZIP. I did something similar for pulling the music out of System Shock 2.

I never really played this game I always watched my older brother played it when I was very young. I never seen the first Thief before.

Here's something to think about. The first Thief comes in two flavors, the original release and the later Gold release. I bought Gold at retail back in the day (skipping out on Nocturne, which I played later...I don't regret getting Thief instead).

Anyway, Gold has more levels, and a few levels apparently change a little. I haven't played the regular version, but the extra levels in Thief: Gold are pretty neat, like the Wizard's Tower.

Every time I get to this scene I laugh, but I never understood what the red one calls the purple one:"You got to far these time you..." - WHAT THE FLACK DOES HE SAY THERE? And if it has a translation to a simple modern English, it will be appreciated very much.

I actually thought the voice acting in this scene in the full game was a bit watered down compared to the demo version. Check out both versions and see which one you think is better!
