Kristin Kcame to UI Childrens Hospital at age 11 to receive treatment for a rare bacteria that was a consequence of her cystic fibrosis, and later for surgery to treat scoliosis. Living with these conditions has motivated Kristin to become a volunteer and spokesperson in her hometown, where she has raised more than $150,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. After graduating from high school next spring, she plans to pursue a master of social work degree to help others.
