  • The idea came from myself, but was influenced by the use of physical constraints in the Pico project (search for "James Patten Pico").

  • Moving stuff is slower than pushing buttons, yes. But when did art become about efficiency?

    If you're going to compare apples to oranges...

    Tenori-on costs $1000+, and you're locked into the functionality provided.

    Beatbearing is a DIY project you can build for $100 if you're resourceful. It's open source, and every part of it can be modified.

    (Monome is a better comparison. Grid of buttons, open functionality... Still costly, though.)
