@AnchorsAweigh2010 I think so, too. I'd say it was a mixture of a botched attempt at question avoidance(because it can make him look really bad if taken out of context) and James' tendency to go off on a tangent during interviews.

@LuigiFanatic I think he was trying to avoid the question. James has even said that politics drive him crazy. He doesn't want politics to take attention away from the music.

His answer to the torture question bugs me...but I get the feeling he was either trying(and failing) to dodge the question or failing to understand the depth of it and the extent to which music as torture can effect people.

i think cliffs names came up alot when metallica were going to split up, i think cliff kept them together for alot of situations

True. Secrets do rot inside you and consume you. It isn't good. And I hate how the interviewer told him "Why can't you say stop?"... I would be happy to get to listen to Metallica if I was in Guantanamo.
