Here's a clip of the MXR Distortion + effects pedal in all of its ugly yellow glory. I recorded this when I was 16 with a '93 Stratocaster and a Behringer GM110.

  • you don't get it, this pedal can easily be used as lead is you don't use so much distortion. Jerry garcia used it. i think one of the biggest problems with modern rock is they use too much distortion. YOU DON"T NEED THAT MUCH!!

  • I honestly have never really listened to Fugazi...

  • This pedal in front of my marshall, with distortion at 1/3 and volume dimed is THE perfect sound.

  • Good sounding pedal, but a bit of an advise: Don't talk that much.

  • @prophetdude2 i completely agree with you they must turn everything up all of the way because i can never hear the individual notes

  • this video inspired me to buy this pedal. gotta say, i'm really enjoying it.

  • I have an old one of these i got from a kid for 20 bucks and i have a 180$ TS-808 tubescreamer and the MXR is a much richer rounder friendlier pedal. Try it with a Holy grail....holy shit!!!

  • @prophetdude2 If they want to have their music have that much, then they obviously feel that they DO need that much. You can't argue how music sounds because it is entirely conceptual. There is no rules or boundaries to how it should be.

  • I don't know if I should be watching a demo that hasn't been sanctioned by the government.

  • Use this pedal with a good humbucker pickup in the bridge position (a DiMarzio Super Distortion would be perfect) and you'll get a good classic '70-ish hard rock/heavy metal sound. ;)

  • @georgesorosisgay K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest, the '70-ish albums), Tom Sholz (Boston) and Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead) too. ;)

  • randy rhoads used that pedal
