If you've ever participated in any of Nat Geo's worldwide photo contest, you will know that they have very strict requirements on what you can do to your submitted photos--they cannot be manipulated in anyway except for contrast, white balance correction, and cropping. At least photos in their contests are as real and raw as they get.
-
Photographs have always been manipulated since the beginning of photography.
-
Last 2 Images: Way to use such a simple image where the background is basically 4 colours -.- (2nd image) and 1 colour in different shades Still nice featuers though.

alycia - Oh my bad i didn't realize "beta" meant useless. Wish I was as smart as u

Very true indeed, sir.
-
True, but in all fairness, thats been an issue for a number of years now. Photo-manipulation is nothing new.
-
yes, you could do that, or you could save 10+ hours of your life editing a 2000x3000 photo by using photoshop and dragging.
-
it's called beta and trial for a reason, genius.

Although this is really amazing, I can't help but think now that every time I look at an iconic image from National Geographic or some other famous photojournalist, I wonder if this was real, raw, concrete evidence of a perfect moment forever frozen in time or an image that was simply manipulated. For me, ironically, this takes away the "wow" factor from seeing amazing photographs.
