Daniel Roth performs.

Some highlights:
2:00 and 2:30 the assistant to his right helps with the stops
3:20 some fancy fingerwork
6:21 he casually jokes around while playing, then I tilt the camera so you can see his fancy footwork
8:09 assistant to his left helps with the stops

  • I i i i say this is beautiful !

  • @accousticdecay : No organs in the nether world !

  • @TheYorkshireJack : But only on Tuesdays !

  • I've always imagined Bach on a C-C organ... and here it is. And with no less than Mssr. Roth, having a jolly time with students and admirers in the loft with him! It just doesn't get any better than that!. Wish I could've heard the trio double fugue of the latter part of this. The clarity of C-C's chorus is evident, but to hear the fugue subjects on this instrument would be monumental to me. of course, me, being an organ nut, I'd say monumental, but you might now think so until YOU hear it!

  • This man is a true gentleman, Incredible organist and to my mind the best in europe. also he has cared and nurtured this wonderful instrument since he took the post of organist.

  • you can say an organist is skilled, if he still has the time to talk and joke while playing Bach ...

  • about the help with the stops:

the system of Cavaille Coll allows it, to "save" the drawn stops with the use of the "combinations", the first five stops in the third row on the left.

With those drawn, all stop changes dont apply, until the "combination" stop is pushed back in again.

  • St Anne Prelude and Fugue in Eb by J.S. Bach for those wondering :)

  • The greatest organist alive playing one of the finest instruments in existence.
