Oh wow. That looks like my "Budderball" and Figaro (cat). I was told 4 yrs ago when we responded to a "free to good home ad" that he was a med. size bulldog mix. When he got huge and people asked me what breed this beautiful dog was I told then a "Lab Mix". No wonder he is such a good watch dog and strong as an ox :-)

You can see that the cat respects the sleeping fila. Filas never truly sleep. They always have one ear open just in case their family or kitty is threatened. I heard a story where 6 filas were guarding an estate and 3 men tried jumping over the fence. 2 filas chased them back over the fence, 2 filas guarded the house and two filas ran into the house and grabbed their master by the arm and gently pulled her to the ground and stood over her till the danger was gone. No better protection period

I have never seen this breed of dog before. are they illegal in certain areas? they look like they would be very gentle but if thats the case wouldnt i see more people with them? especially since they are so beautiful. i just want to crawl onto the floor with him and cuddle. cute cat too =)

hahahaha my cat would probably attack this fila]!!!

LOL, a true fila never let his owner sleep because the snoring, and other fact like the video shows they are very lazy when they are lying down or tired...
loved the video

My favorite part is when you hear Kilo snoring! My Fila gets quite loud when she's in a deep sleep!
I am playing with the idea of getting one of these dogs in the future... my question is, since I have a cat who I love dearly (as much as I'd love a Fila if I got one) do they need to go through specific training to get along so well with cats, or is it enough with having the cat in the Fila's life since it's a puppy, with proper training can you avoid Fila's from wanting to chase/kill cats and other small animals that might come through a countryside property? Thanks!

@xXGaticaXx filas get along fine with cats if u teach them that their off limits. when they are puppies and they try and harrass the cat just give em a smack and they will learn very fast that messing with the cat = smack. once they know that the cat must be respected they will not bother the cat at all, other random cats and small animals will deffinetly be killed if they enter a filas territory.

the fila was bred by patti brown from hillcountrydogs in tennessee, this was the last dog she sold due to some legal issues
