hi everyone, brian was my grandad, and i loved him dearly, when he dies, it was a huge shock to my family, as my dad had been visiting him regularly, as he had a walking problem, fell down the stairs in his house, and went to hospital. it was deverstating, however i am happy for him as he dies a legend, and in his sleep in a comfy bed, not a hospital. dont believe me if you wish, however, i no the truth, and you were the best grandad ever. rip. your funeral was lovely. james x.

I enjoyed Brian Wilde as Queen Elizabeths torturer-in-chief in the BBC tv drama Elizabeth R in the 1970s.

I didn't know he was dead.
I loved him in Last of the Summer wine.
I remember from a show about 30 years ago, he knocked on the door of one of the battleaxe wives and asked if their friend was coming out to play. :)
I was wetting myself.

Brian was my favorite character in "Last of the Summer Wine." Foggy's tall figure, craggy face, and quaint personality always cheered me up.

@stalbans4eva I had the privilege of working on Last of the Summer when I was at school and you were very lucky to have Brian as your Grandad. He was incredibly funny and extremely supportive of all around him. God Bless.

@stalbans4eva I really enjoy watching "Last of the Summer Wine". I live in Kansas City, Missouri, USA and was just introduced to this wonderful show. Your Grandad was my personal favorite. I just wanted to let you know that he is much enjoyed on this side of the pond too. May he rest in peace. Thanks for sharing him with us.

One of Britains best comedy actors in my opinion. It's just a shame he wasn't in more shows.

@stalbans4eva ... Sorry for your loss, but your lovely Granddad hass left so may chuckles for us all, along with all the guys in LOTSW.... What a super talent Brian was, and you must be so proud that he was and still is your Granddad... With my deepest sympathies and best wishes James :0)x

Loved Brian in @porridge' and loved him as 'oggy on Last of the Summer Wine' too... Two totally different charaters but both so easy to watch and care about... Hopefully Foggy and Compo are chasing eachother over the clouds up above just waiting for dear old 'Cleggy' to make the threesome up, and pop off to the pub...
Do they have pubs in heaven though I wonder...
God bless you Brian and Bill, and thanks for all the laughs ... :0)x
