Jared Auerbach is the owner of Red's Best, a Boston-based seafood distributor that acts as a conduit between small and responsible owner-operated fishing boats and wholesalers across the country. Jared, who started his business in 2008, is an avid angler who worked on salmon boats in Alaska, lobster boats in Gloucester, and sport fishing charters in Costa Rica before finding his niche on the Boston pier. Auerbach recently developed a web-based software platform that streamlines his supply chain, incorporates a virtual marketplace where buyers can place orders online, and uploads all information to SAFIS, the government seafood quota system.
