This second movement of Gloria is my favorite. I feel the tempo and the dynamics expressed in this rendition are perfect. There are portions where I'd like to hear more alto, however nowhere in this version did I hear rushing of the ascending runs or voices who seem uncomfortable with the dissonance, trying to resolve a chord too quickly as in other versions I have heard. Excellent breath control, intonation as well as being well conducted.

I've done this piece as slow as they sang it, it turned out unbelievably chilling. The audience was shocked. If your choir has good control, this song can be easily mastered.
Vivaldi is an incredibly composer, the entire compilation proves it. When my choir director handed me Gloria, I looked at her like she was stupid. 13 or so songs? She's lost her everlovin' mind!
Little did I know she'd just handed me genius. I was also lucky enough to do a duet with an alto (I'm a soprano) for Agnus Dei.

with compositions such as this I dont think its Important to be able to hear every particular part....just as extras in movies still play an intricate yet trivial role they bring life to scenes that would otherwise be an unpainted canvas. The same applies here....everyone plays a role...no matter how obvious or minor their part...its all plays out into something so beautiful! true artistry and musicianship. Hell of a breathing exercise is certainly goin on!

the beauty and artistery of the song is all in the slowness
