I know all these rooms intimately. I was obsessed with this as a child, and painstakingly drew each and every single room. You have to shoot the monk in the face to kill him.

@ForViewingOnly I totally agree. An awesome game and definitely one worth replaying. I'm not particularly good at and I've managed to get my completion time under an hour and a half after a couple of attempts. I'm gonna play it again in the near future and try to get my time under 1 hour. I think it can be done and if I manage it I'll probably post it up on YouTube, well, a heavily sped up version that is.

Fantastic game. One of my all time favourites. I think a lot of my love for it may have something to do with it being the first video game I ever bought but it's definitely a great platform adventure. Never completed it when I was a kid but I came very close. Finally beat it a few years ago using an emulator on my PC and have played it again a few times since. It's definitely a game that I come back to from time to time to get a fresh dose of nostalgia.

This was an excellent game as far as Electron games went. I spent many hours on it. And your videos are very entertaining.

i remember when i had this a good 20 odd years ago and always remember getting annoyed at the temple part of the game as i could never get past it

This was my second favorite game on the electron!
+1 !

This was my favourite Electron game. Completed it several times. Must admit I used a walkthrough the first time, then regretted it. Still, it gave me a taste for side-view arcade adventures. Played it recently on an emulator. Has lost some of its magic but still good.

Probably my favourite graphical game for the Beeb/Electron (as opposed to Level 9 text adventures which I loved). I'd even put this one above Elite! There was something very atmospheric about it... the evil monks, the stars in the sky in the outdoor scenes, the lack of music... ahh, rose-tinted memories from my teen years. I keep meaning to have another crack at finishing it but it would probably take 2 or 3 hours, and there's no save facility unless you use an emulator. A 32K miracle, no less.
I loved this game on my Electron. I was screaming at the screen at what to do. I completed this game more than a couple of times. It was brilliant fun. I now feel all nostalgic and wished I hadn't sold my Acorn now :( lol

@paultrd Screaming at the screen is a standard response from many viewers of my videos :)

Brilliant game, completed it many times and it never lost it's appeal. Superior Software were by far the best games company for the Electron and produced many quality games although I think this was one of the best. The sequel ; Palace of Magic was good too although I don't think it was quite up there with Citadel.

@wayne9999999 This game never quite did it for me, though I think I was always rather missing the point. I was looking for a pretty standard platformer... so the devious puzzles just annoyed me.

Out of all the games i ever had for the Elk this was my very favourite. Never managed to fully complete it though. Think i may have a walk-thru somewhere tho.

It seems to be very highly rated by many people and magazines.
I could never get into it myself.
