Last technical video (by now). Showing how do I sample with the Emu EMAX II HD (same way as done in the Emax I). The EMAX II is a 16 Bit w/digital filters and vca (DSP) sampler. Even though, sound keeps some of the warmness from its predecessor.
Have you considered trying to replace that noisy hard drive with a Compact Flash memory card adapter? Maybe not your cup of tea though, messing with hardware modding.
PS I think a lot of us would love to see how your midi routing and audio patching is set up. Must be complicated with so many keyboard controllers and midi slaves. Can't all be midi thru could it?
Cool stuff Jose. It's strange seeing a 'sampler' with keys on it because it goes against everything I know about samplers in the production stage of music. I can see how valuable it is for EMUlating other instruments though. I have a Korg Triton that I put a sampling board into a few years back but never really played with it. I'm thinking maybe that would be fun. Question though how did you route the audio? Did you use the tape loop on your console or do you have a seperate sample bus?
Great video, nice to see this kind of stuff, especially because I have an Emax II myself. Quite a fascinating instrument, the spectrum synth and transform multiplication effect are very interesting features.
ORBITAL CHIME really simple song if you played this afew people in the world would be happy.
