In 1996 8 tourists drowned in Snake Gorge...
We lived next to a wadi which flooded 2 or 3 times in the 4yrs we lived in that suburb. Never quite as spectacularly, but then it wasn't a gorge. That's what it's like when it rains in Oman, even in Muscat, the capital city. And then there was Gonu (shudder).
