sorry but nothing this calasanz guy does makes sense to me......he'd get his ass handed to him just by a good boxer......simple as!!!

wouldn't your arm break trying to block those thai kicks?
-
how can this be ground fighting when you aren't even fighting....on the ground...
there is no ground fighting in wing chun...if you are doing what you are suppose to be doing (which is attacking) then your opponent won't have the opportunity to take you down...simple as that...if you can't understand that you obviously need more training....either that or a new sifu

NOT WING CHUN
Wing Chun is a beautiful stand up art I dont understand why alot of WC schools are so insecure about the popularity of grappling that they need to pretend they know all about it already...

Thank you for your comment and observation regarding grappling. Martial art schools want to provide these services to students who ask for them, plain and simple. There are many techniques in traditional martial arts that are absolutely useful to the grappler and that can enhance their training.

The gentleman you see here practicing with Calasanz is a student of the Gracie system. He is open minded enough to look into other arts like Wing Chun to improve his training and thats what Calasanz is doing with him. We have plenty of people under similar circumstances training at the school.

We are very sure that you don't know Calasanz too well, plus it is hard to understand what he is doing here, you would have to know him in order for this video to make sense to you. We will send you something that will make more sense to you.

The explanation is simple. Calasanz is working with his student on shin kicks, striking the body, and closing the gap before a takedown. This is quite obvious in a 6+ minute video. Calasanz has trained in Judo, Aikido, and Hapkido. He has also had extensive training in Wing Chun and coined the phrase wing chun ground fighting many years ago. One point he likes to make in his teaching is make sure you first learn how to fight standing up before you learn how to fight on the ground.
