@HunterMann Because they are still pests. It doesn't matter how smart they are, they can still cause problems. I agree that shooting them for fun isn't really tasteful, but that's rarely the case, it's usually done to keep them from overflowing an area and wiping out other populations or causing other such issues.

@guilemaster147 ...and with that in mind, why do people shoot them? That's the thing I do not like about most people who call crows: they are calling them so they can kill them... an ugly sport. Be a birder, not a bird killer.

NICE... very authentic call sounds... does calling in crows drive out hawks?

@greenleafbrandi Birds from the corvid family, specifically the Common Raven, have had recent studies done that are highly suggestive that they could be the smartest birds, and that they may even have theory of mind (basically, near-human thought capactiy, like apes). It's quite fascinating.
