Hello, I've been collecting rare films and television programmes for nearly twenty years now and I thought it was high time I shared some clips from a few of the titles in my archive with you nice people out there. If you've a similar passion or just want to say hello, thanks etc. get in touch with me here or at statesedgefilms@virginmedia.com

I look forward to hearing from (at least) a few of you and hope that you enjoy my humble offerings.

WEST COUNTRY TALES
West Country Tales was an early 1980s supernatural drama series based on real-life (Hmmmm....) experiences submitted by viewers in response to a BBC appeal. Of the hundreds of letters received, 13 stories were selected and turned into TV scripts.

THE WIT TO WOO
Driven to desperate measures by her husband's affairs, a young woman consults a witch for help (EOFFTV).

  • Hi, the main character (Robin) is my dad lol...rather embarrassing but i was wondering if you happened to have the other half of it because i haven't seen it before, thanks :) Lizzi

I think his stage name was Callum Browne.

  • @elhe1911 I have full versions of all my clips. However, since my prosecution for uploading a complete film about six years back I no longer chance putting things up in their entirety. I stick to exchanging material with other collectors through the post. If you'd like a copy of WCT please contact me here at YT or at the e-mail address under show more.

  • Hi statesedgefilms - just wanted to say thanks for uploading this. Since youtube was started I have been checking regularly to see if anything would come up on West Country Tales and now you've sorted it! It was the theme music in particular. I was pretty young when it was televised and a couple of the episodes scared me. But we always watched. I know a few other people who will be really happy you took the trouble, so thank you!

  • @TPEKHH Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. WCT is one of those series which managed a lot on very little.

If you're interested in a trade I've six other episodes of WCT (Miss Constantine, The Poacher, With Love Belinda, The Beast, The Visitor, and The Breakdown).

  • Thanks for this, i have few episodes on dvd. For years i was the only one who could recall this series. They thought i was making it up!

I don't suppose you have a copy of the Australia series The Nargun and the Stars?

  • This series has haunted me for 30 years. I don't actually remember this episode, but the two that do remain uncomfortably lodged in my memory are 'The Beast' and 'The Poacher'. The latter was particularly unsettling - I saw it once, and still have uneasy memories of it today, particularly the line spoken by the Poacher's night-time visitor near the end: "Look at my feet.". Or something like that... That's how I remember it, at least.

  • Is there a part 2.. Love how the lady is getting into witchcraft..

  • Yeah the whole West Country tales series is seriously creepy...very underrated BBC show.

Network should release this show to DVD.

  • I loved these programes though can't remember all, I remember the music vividly. I remember there being one with an old man talking in a forest by a fire, at the end we saw that he had cloven hooves.!!! It was soo creepy. I saw somewhere you say you have more episodes of this. Any posiblity of you posting them??? Pretty please, as I'd so love to see these. Thanks L

  • which story was the one where a vicar goes on holiday to a remote village and ends up being strip naked and subjected to a witchcraft ceremony being spashed with chicken blood.

  • Thanks for uploading this.I was a big fan of this series especially series one.I was only about 12 when it was out and found it quite creepy.Do you have "The Sabbatical "? It's the only one from the first series i haven't seen mentioned on any dvds(although i don't actually have any yet, only the book). If you type in "The White Bird of laughter tor" the whole episode has been uploaded.
