This is a short filmed titled 'Cow & The Gate' which I had written, directed, produced and edited for my Film Studies coursework... Any comments good or bad are fine by me, I realise it isn't a piece of art, there are some bits that could've been better but it was my first try and I am somewhat proud of it...To convert it from DVD I didn't use an amazing software so it doesn't look as good as it could, if anyone knows a better free one, please let me know!! The music is by Bjork and of course I do not own it.

  • Ok here is my opinion. The cinematography, sound, editing and mise en scene were great i mean i would say A-A* but i was really confused with the story line. I think it was about a girl who is offered to go back in time to change something she had done wrong but i wasn't understanding.

  • yeeaaahh BJork!!!!

  • @Ascratch123 Completely right, everything was great except the story line, it was simply too confusing.

  • that voice is flippin scary the deamons one, how did you do that?

  • I agree with Ascratch123

Really cool though! loving Bjork haha

  • WTF lol

  • Bjork! :D

  • I agree with the other posters - strange and disturbing (but in a good way!) Nice choice of music too - well done

  • This is very Lynchian, nice work

  • Hi, I think the imagery in the woods is stunning - well done. Also, the make-up is really unusual and the Bjork songs fit well with the style. For me, it might have been more effective to keep the voices of everyone except the protagonist muffled as in the beginning of the film.

  • hey man that aint half bad! ive seen much worse trust me! its kinda David lynchie i think, reminds me of the dream sequence in twin peaks!

please check mine out and let me know what you think

  • what grade did you make for this?

  • whats that all about

  • of all the A level films ive seen on here, this is the best. And i just spent the past hour and a bit watching them. Its totally bizzare; learn a bit more about filming technique, get a slightly better script (but equally weird) try and be less meaningful and more weird and this could be like a Tim Burton short or somthing. Seriously, this is inspiring.Very Arty.

  • this is nuts!! nice job.

  • Films studies is really good if you have a passion for film and are intrested in learning the development of films. But be ready for some tough work and exams!Mine's nxt week! ARGH!!!!

  • here wtf this is freaky. im not watchin the rest

  • lol

  • thanks, looking forward to my own movie in A2

  • I'm starting film studies A-Level in September, how much coursework do you do and how much choice do you have?

Vert good film by the way

  • This has a really strong atmosphere, I hope you make more films like this - very creative.

    Good job

  • Very moody, and a pretty good first effort. And yeah, like screeching said, it was quite Lynchian.

  • Great film! Very Lynch-esque.
