@MrTooz3 The Faces were very much a band without a star musician to hog the limelight. Jones, Lane, McLagan and Wood were/are all talented players but the sum of the parts was much less than the whole. I brought up McLagan partly because no-one had mentioned him on the thread ... and partly because I think his playing is so important to the band sound! But they're all underrated outside of the muso fraternity. :)

Did author D.J. MacHale bring anydoby else here?

@FullMontyUK I hear what you mean, subtle but important to the whole. Just a great version of a great song start to finish, the whole band just kills it here! My whole view on Kenny changed from this too - I never gave him enough credit in The Who (tough gig, who could have followed Moonie). His solo here is not super complex, but it is just perfect!

For all the showmanship the core of The Faces was Ian McLagan. The way he weaves those gloriously funky, yet understated, electric piano runs in under the vocals or lead guitar is genius. They might not stand out on first listen but take them out and the performance of the whole band would suffer!

You just can't find rockers like this today, they are extinct.
Fantastic vocalist and frontman . Shame he betrayed his own legacy with a lot of his later solo shite.
