Shield gathers up top scientists for fighting against the aliens

A mechanic, a biologist, an aerospace engineer and a particle physicist (Stark, Xavier, Richards and Banner) to try studying the aliens and their machinery.

when jean grey is attacked while dissecting an alien, Xavier gets a mental shock from the alien. stark manages to kill the alien and Xavier gets a vision of the ship, it's purpose and machinery

they send the x-men with the-hulk as cargo to blow shit up in the mothaship

Wow man, that was great!

With some changes you could make it into that "Illuminati" thing Marvel did a few yars ago. Remeber? When Xavier, Iron Man, Doc Strange, Mr Fantastic, Black Bolt and Namor go and attack the Skrulls. They also started a war with that move, but that's not the point here =P
