Was wondering if anyone knows weather Mr Abernethy was advocating a low clinch on the neck to be used as a means to control the opponent's movement and the high grip just for gaining the necessary leverage to lower the head. Have always been taught and found that the grip to the base of the skull was the best option for clinching and not to simply grab the back of the neck as it gives poor control of the opponent.
Iain is a remarkable instructor, and all of his dvds are amazing. Most martial arts guys carefully limit the info on one dvd so you'll have to buy the rest. Iain just keeps teaching and teaching and teaching, with no repetition and no fat. It's all the good stuff. There's a mountain of information in all his books and tapes; get 'em even if yu have to skip a few meals. You'll be glad you did.
Yes iains books and dvds are among my personal instructional martial arts favourites. His web site is well worth checking out, i hope more of his instructional video clips will be posted on you tube soon.
This is great stuff! I'll be training with Sensei iain in Belgium soon! Looking forward to learn from him
