  • I am very pleased to know that this video has helped on your path toward being an MD! Thank you for sharing this with me. To think that Alex's struggles helped someone become a better Dr makes our path easier. All the best to you in your studies. Happy Holidays

  • It would be painful if he was awake and yes. They are drilling int the tip of the hip bone there... to draw the marrow and the drlling is for the sample of bone. Thanks for checking in

  • Thank you for your post. This was taken 2yrs ago and I'm happy to report that Alex is 4.5yrs old now and doing GREAT!!! Thank you for your comment.

  • poor baby I hope he is doing well right now :(

  • nagmalitongyawa it's attitudes like yours that bring comfort to people like me. I watched as my late husband went through 4 of these. Each time it was the calmness and kindness of the medical staff that made it bearable!

  • I am a medical student and our module as of this moment is a hypocellular bone marrow. Seeing this video gives me motivation to exhaust all my efforts in learning as much as I can so I could really be of use to families who undergo these things. Hats off to you. You posting this video did a lot of good in one way or another.

  • How is he asleepp, when his legs move ?

  • I am a 48 yr old man having this done in a week. A bit scary to be certain.

  • that boy is real brave ... I'd never be able to do that

  • Hummm- Having a needle slid into the vein of your arm or a corkscrew going into the bone of your pelvis (because they actually take a sample)... I'll let the public decide which they feel gives more discomfort.

  • Thank you all for your comments on Alex's procedure. Drilling into the bone and pulling out a slice is NOT fun, but Alex is a champ! Alex is 2yrs post transplant now and doing very well. God bless!!
