Siskel and Ebert at the movies! God this show takes me back to a cool/magical place in my childhood. I used to watch this with my pops and it made movies MAGICAL to me. RIP Gene Siskel and best wishes Roger Ebert. Two Chicago legends.

i saw Legend for the first time for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it. ok the story isn't the most complicated one but it's enough for me who see it as a story about two young people who's exposed to the horrors and evils of the world for the first time and must grow and find strength to resist it, for now and in the future.

They basically gave away the whole movie

I love a few of the dark fantasy movies from the 80s: Labyrinth, Return to Oz and The Dark Crystal. I don't think S&E gave any of those films high marks, and I can't say I agree with them, except in this case. I was hoping Legend would be this gem I'd overlooked; instead, I didn't find it at all magical- just unpleasant, ugly and boring. Sorry, but Legend is one of those rare movies I flat out hated. Maybe if I'd seen it as a kid, I'd like it more now, but I kinda doubt it.

Most critics didn't give fantasy films back then high marks, not surprised by their reaction to Legend. In general Legend wasn't well received, but it has a cult following. I'm in the middle about it.

The directors cut is a true masterpiece. The studio cut.
.well it's pretty.

Awww, look at the young Tom Cruise. He was so full promise back then. Before Lord Xenu got to him.

I liked Legend. Labyrinth is better but I still loved the visuals and the Tangerine Dream score is wondeful.
