Green Party excluded from leaders' debates

The media consortium that produces the televised leaders' debates says Green Party leader Elizabeth May will not be invited to the debates in October.

The consortium implies one or more political parties threatened to boycott the debates if the Green Party were included.

The Conservatives, NDP and Bloc all oppose including the Green Party in the debates, but the Liberal Party has advocated in favour of the Green Party position since the two parties formed an alliance last year.

Rather than referring to an ambiguous "consortium", please provide Canadian tax payers with the names of the organizations who choose to make this decision which affects the voters. It should not be up to a private group to take this option away. Parties who refuse to attend an election debate actually do this and bear it's own consequence.

@unsureandunaware Tell me why the liberals want to bring up the detainee thing again? All that can come from this is trouble for the soldiers and no one in government will have to pay. It is almost treason to bring this up and the liberals don't care as long as they score some points. How about the afghan that put an axe into one of our soldiers when they were having a peaceful meeting? All muslims have a bit of taliban in them and can not be trusted. The only good muslim is a dead muslim.

And parliment was prorouged and now the detainee issue has to start all over again, and no its not just Afghans, the taliban is people from middle eastern countries, but to say the Afghans would cut our soilders heads off is very ignorant. What the taliban do and what the Afghans themself as a country and military would do, are two very different things.
