The Ford Fairlane was an automobile model sold between 1955 and 1971 by the Ford Motor Company in North America. The name was taken from Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan.

Over time, the name referred to a number of different cars in different classes; the Fairlane was a full-size car during the 1950s. A facelift for 1958 saw fashionable quad headlights, a grille that matched the 1958 Thunderbird, and other styling changes. New big-block FE V8s of 332 and 352 in³ (5.4) and (5.8 L) replaced the previous largest V8s, and a better 3-speed automatic transmission was also available.

  • Wow! I'm going to see my Ford dealer today!!!

  • @duncan36: And never forget there is no such thing as Chevrolet, it's just a division name. The Chevrolet brothers left GM in 1915, and mainly worked for FORD RACING on the Fronty Ford race cars and built Ford Racing Parts for the Fronty Ford racers too. Chivy-Let guys hate that fact! LOL.. There isn't any Chevrolet name casting or Chevy name casting on any engine block I've ever saw either.LOL.. It's casting says GM. And the bodies were made by Fisher for many years.

  • Ford also designed two V8 motors in the early fifties, one they kept and used the other one was sold to General motors. Thats where all the small block GM motors originated from.

  • @primeralives I went and all they were selling were pieces of plastic...

  • @duncan36: Funny to read what all the FORD bashers have to say. LOL.. FORD didn't need a GOV BAIL OUT, GM did! LOL.. Chrysler/Dodge mainly owned by FIAT now! LOL.. FORD, still Family owned, still family run, NO BAIL OUTS! Throughout the years GM/Chrysler/Dodge & AMC have taken many ideas from Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. History shows that FORD has been the main American automotive innovator throughout the years.

  • The old commercials were fun to watch.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • uh oh theyre probly almost out of them, Id better go see my local Ford dealer

  • imagine what or where ford would be today if someone assassinated Lee iccoca back in the early 60's before the creation or release of the msutang. honestly i think the F-series truck and the Mustang are why ford stands today. but then its like the butterfly effect. what would come of all the pony cars made by GM and Crysler

  • Awesome commercial, but XD I must say this -Hehehe, he said load-
