Quick question, do you give away the majority of your veggies/fruit, or do you try and sell them at the local Farmers Market? Do you can/preserve anything as well? Literally, you can feed your family 2 times over every year with canning and/or freezing.

Hi Jessica.. I give most of my vegetable to friends and family. I don’t sell any to a farmers market or any other entity involving profiting. I really just like giving the produce any freely and watching peoples facing receiving the blessing they just received. That’s the real basis of what makes me happy and just being outdoors being bless to do just that. The canning deal; I’m a real greenhorn when it comes to that thing. Need help on this one; because I don’t can most of what I should

How do you water your veggies? By drip or hand? I am currently designing my lower yard with raised beds, which will need a drip system for sure =)

I have an automatic sprinkler system that has four zones, which includes a drip irrigation system. The system is made by Hunter and comes with timers and rain senors. Let me know the outcome of your raised beds your designing:)

Part 2 of Raised Beds: I plan on utilizing the layer method of soil management rather then tilling in and amending. I decided on Hugulkultur due to the fact after the 2nd and 3rd year, the decomposing wood will become spongy and start to release nitrogen rather then releasing it. This will help the beds retain moisture and help save water.

Hey Again! I built about 20 raised garden beds. It felt good to get back to my roots regarding a nice 2 weeks of building!

The Beds are 10 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet. I used a hardware cloth on the bottom, and I sunk the beds just a little. In the beds, I started a Hugelkultur, I laid down at least 1.5 feet of aged and green deciduous wood. On top of that, I layered dying sod mats, straw, compost, and then a blend of my natural soils, clay, and triple mix.
