its called "shuck-ling"
in the new and very much non jewsh religion called hasidism the followers believe their prayers are actually magic spells.
they believe this sort of movement increases the efficacy of said magical spells and base it in part a bible verse re "praying with your bones".
in any case its a nice cultural example of witchcraft.
