  • sorry mean at around 2.07!

  • you can see at 2.00 the coin drop in the bus to the side of the driver, I wonder how much it was back then for a journey and whether it was split fares.. in 1991 when I was at University I believe the fares on LRT were 50p short journeys and 90p long journeys!

  • @nfcpro Modern buses have an interlock to prevent the doors being opened until the handbrake is applied. The Atlanteans were much nicer buses.

  • thumbs up for that little bus at 2:59

  • @nfcpro oh it does can remember thousand of times when a bus door opened before it stopped and that was only a few years ago coming back from school

  • fascinating!!!!

Note that the driver around 2:00 doesn't check the older ladies pass, and the doors open in the middle of the bus before the bus stops!! Classic.... those little things could never happen today.... health and safety rules.... strict working regulations... never seemed to have harmed anybody back then without!

  • what a great trip back in time

  • what a brilliant vid. i absolutely love seeing what edinburgh was like in the 70's and 80's. I've had to rely on the the scenes from restless natives up until now!!

  • These LRT buses were still going strong when I would travel to-and-from school in the late 80's and all through the 90's.

    Great memories.

  • That was like taking a step back into my childhood.....wonderful stuff

I take it that would have been 1975 going by the sign half way through..I would have been 10 years old then, might even be in that film somewhere.

    Thanks for the video.
