Back in the mid-1990s I programmed a Superior Electric MX2000 multi-axis control to drive two step motors so that they played "Dueling Banjos". About a year ago I decided that I needed to video this to save it for posterity.

    How long did tit take to program the steppers?

  • I worked on it off and on over a year's time, but I have no idea how many hours I actually put into it.

  • I do. It is the stepper motors that generate the sound, stepping at different frequencies.
