Here's my competition entry for the Ean Golden DJ Tech Tools Powertools competition to show off the Powertools Electro Kit and my controllerism skills Watch in 720p for full audio quality

I used my Behringer UMX250 for cue points and transposition, Numark Mixtrack for deck control scratching, transport controls and effects, and Akai MPD26 for my modified mapping of the DJTT Instant Gratification MidiFighter.
The song in this performance is Illmerica by Wolfgang Gartner and I used the free Electro Powertools Kit 7A (D minor) to mix into it. I labelled the cue points of the powertools kit on the white keys of my midi keyboard (from leftmost to right); D, F, G, A#, elec1, elec2, wub, wnoise.
~No Sync or Quantisation was used in this performance.

The competition and free samples can be found on the DJTT website here: http://www.djtechtools.com/2012/01/09/powertools-remix-contest-1500-grand-pri...

Thanks for checking out my entry; rate, comment, favourite :) all feedback is welcome.

  • This is a shining example of why technology works out very well for electronic music :D I love my vinyl but just like nothing gives you the feel of vinyl, vinyl will only carry you so far concerning capability. This was awesome man! Case and point!

  • @FaunKeH it's just a gater with wet/dry and rate as the two knobs/sliders... have a similar mapping on my apc...

  • @FaunKeH Haha :D I wrote this several times since I was sick of it -.-'

Yeah, it would be cool to get a tutorial if you spend some time doing one :-)

  • nice work man....pretty sweet....

  • 2/cos(c)! (thats too sexy in nerd terms) NAICE!

  • Stiff competition... :P Good luck man, excellent performance.

  • @FaunKeH I actually just posted a video using the same tag so i thought Id see what else got posted recently. There was some whacky stuff in there tho :P

  • @AlexanderSaint1 i didnt take it offensively, i was pointing out myself alot of people these days use the words Disk Jockey wrongly heh. the tag is there exactly for that reason if someone is looking for this type of performance, they'll think of 'DJ'

wow im actually surprised how well tags work, i woulda though my video would be hidden amongst the other millions of videos with that 'scratching' tag haha

  • @FaunKeH I didnt mean anything bad by that, sorry for not directing that better. No, I think your tags are well placed. Weather its good or bad people really dont seem concerned with the meaning of DJ anymore so albeit maybe an inaccurate description to use for allot of what its applied to these days its perceived application is more useful for promotion and the industry seems to accept it. I actually found your video by searching "scratching", and indeed there was some of that to be found :D
