The Barbershop Boys (Berlin), live in a concert from October 2000, singing Harry Nilsson's haunting ballad "Everybody's talkin'" ("Echoes of my Mind").

The Barbershop Boys quartet sings a repertoire with a broad spectrum from classical barbershop and tin pan alley tunes, folk songs, and swing up to some pop & "schmaltzy" ballads (and sometimes a little bit Comedian Harmonists or other suitable German tunes), both acappella and accompanied by guitar. They were a very active (amateur) group during the 1990s in Berlin and had some popularity and fans among students. Due to different jobs and distant places of domicile, today, the old line-up meets and sings only on rare occasions.

This videotaping (an old analog, not a digital recording) is from their last concert program, "Barbershop - Millenium Edition" from October 2000. The vocal group's line-up is Markus Krafczinski (tenor), Sebastian Claudius Semler (lead), Ferdinand von Rottenburg (baritone), Kai Zastrow (bass), and alternate baritone Axel Bobe played guitar. It was the only occasion the Barbershop Boys performed this tune.
It's a nice and simple arrangement of Harry Nilsson's sentimental ballad "Everybody's Talkin" ("Echoes on my Mind") from 1969 (which was also recorded by Beautiful South in 1994, perhaps the most beautiful recording, but also by many others, e.g. even Louis Armstrong in 1970).

Lyrics:

Everybody's talking at me
I don't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind
People stop and stare
I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather
Suits my clothes
Banking off of the Northeast winds
Sailing on summer breeze
Skipping over the ocean like a storm

Everybody's talking at me
Can't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind
I won't let you leave
My love behind
