now I know why Adam and Eve wore Fig Leaves. . . . the Lettuce Leaf is extraordinarily NOT attractive. Even Corn Husks would have been a better choice.

Might be that you are right BUT you can lower CO2 emissions on things/habits you do not really need not on those that could impact on long term our species.
For instance: you do not need a 3 tons with a 6 liter V8 powered SUV to go shopping around the city but if you/your kids will give up drinking real milk, having any eggs, cream, butter, chese and a stake/fish at least once in while might turn out a really bad thing.
To go extreme - humans should stop breathing. Right ?!

I am ready to join the PETA , for the girls I mean because its goals are stupid.
The species wich are ENDANGERED or EXTINCT are species human does not EAT so they do not care about them. Thinks about it : eating pandas is the only way to save them ! ( just kidding about the pandas they are too cute )
